ECOBRICKS FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICE OF RAPA NUI

The future office of the new Department of the Environment of the Municipality of Isla de Pascua is to be built totally of the so-called “Ecobricks”, which are made of disposable plastic bottles, filled with paper and plastic bags (70 plastic bags can fit into one bottle).  The goal is to get 15 thousand “ecobricks” to build these new offices, considered a priority for the current mayor, Luz Zasso-Paoa, who has stimulated a policy of environmental recovery within her administration.  The community has been asked to donate at least 6 “ecobricks” per family to be able to reach this goal.
