In an original and deeply moving performance, they combined chants, storytelling, and traditional legends. A total of seven com-petitors participated, who, along with their respective artists and painters, worked from 5:00 p.m. in the dressing rooms, preparing every detail of their bodies as living canvases. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Three competitors participated in the first block:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>1<\/strong> &#8211; <strong><em>Haukena Ika Mella<\/em><\/strong>: with her work <em>M\u014dai Hinariru<\/em>, stood out for her high-contrast body painting and precise color execution.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>2 &#8211; <em>M\u0101hatu de Rycke At\u00e1n<\/em><\/strong>: stood out for her stage presence and physical connection to the story. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>3 &#8211; <strong><em>Ra\u014bi Nui Atan<\/em><\/strong><\/strong>: presented a work based on the <strong><em>M\u014dai Kava-kava<\/em><\/strong> and their spirits, trans-mitting a profound mythological narrative through his body.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>In the second block, four people competed:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>4 &#8211; <em>Korik\u0113 Encina<\/em><\/strong>: who embodied the god <strong><em>Make-Make<\/em><\/strong>, a central figure in Rapa Nui cos-mogony, with ritual power and stage presence. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>5 &#8211; <strong><em>Amelia Pakarati Atan<\/em><\/strong><\/strong>: Visually recounted the story of the <strong><em>ta\u014bata manu<\/em><\/strong> and the arrival of the birds, linking body and ancestral ritual. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>6 &#8211; <strong><em>Lucy Haoa Tuki<\/em><\/strong><\/strong>: Shared a work inspired by her genealogy and the oral history of two siblings, reinforcing the role of family storytelling in Rapa Nui culture.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>7 &#8211; <strong><em>Pio Haoa Riroroko<\/em><\/strong><\/strong>: Closed the competition with a presentation that brought together various elements of the notional Rapa Nui, including the representation of the <strong><em>M\u014dai Hoa Haka Nana Ia<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"766\" data-id=\"806301\" data-src=\"https:\/\/moevarua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Lucy-Haoa-Tuki-5to-lugar-1024x766.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-806301 lazyload\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/moevarua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Lucy-Haoa-Tuki-5to-lugar-1024x766.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/moevarua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Lucy-Haoa-Tuki-5to-lugar-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/moevarua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Lucy-Haoa-Tuki-5to-lugar-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/moevarua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Lucy-Haoa-Tuki-5to-lugar-768x574.jpg 768w, https:\/\/moevarua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Lucy-Haoa-Tuki-5to-lugar.jpg 1340w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1024px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1024\/766;\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#eca22b\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#fccf00\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><em><b><strong><em><strong><em><strong><em><strong><em><strong><em>Lucy Haoa Tuki<\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/b><\/em> &#8211; 5th<strong> place<\/strong><\/mark><\/mark><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n<p>The jury, composed by Rodrigo Paoa Atamu, Mar\u00eda Eugenia Tuki Pakarati, and Cristian Araki Silva, had the difficult task of evaluating each proposal based on criteria of scenic composition, use of the Rapa Nui language, narrative quality, and artistic execution. <\/p>\n\n<p>Each participant received a certificate of recognition, and the top three places were awarded stone sculptures inspired by Vai a Heva, a sacred figure located in P\u014dike. In addition, five official festival T-shirts were raffled off among attendees. <\/p>\n\n<p>The official host of the event was Nani Tuki Pont, Queen of T\u0101pati Rapa Nui 2020, who led every moment of the day with warmth and elegance.<\/p>\n\n<p>At the festival&#8217;s closing, the juries offered a few words to the attendees. Rodrigo Paoa Atamu stated: &#8220;Many people confuse the t\u0101 t\u016b with the t\u0101 kona. The idea is to educate through these activities and motivate young Rapa Nui people to keep their culture alive,&#8221; he said in Rapa Nui. Mar\u00eda Eugenia Tuki Pakarati, delivered a direct message to the partic-ipants: &#8220;Remember to keep your language alive and always bring it forward.
