The future office of the new Department of the Environment of the Municipality of Isla de Pascua is to be built totally of the so-called “Ecobricks”

the project “Mi Isla – Mi Patrimonio (My Island – My Heritage)”, which is an attempt to develop artistic and cultural activities in public spaces. The first stage was completed with a mural 20 meters (65 feet) long on a wall at Hanga Roa o Tai Cove.

The Chilean Minister of Culture, Ernesto Ottone, attended the inauguration of the Tapati Festival 2016.  He considers the event to be the most important cultural commemoration of Polynesia and one of the most authentic within Chile.
